DanChurchAid (DCA) and Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) are working together to make positive change in Palestine, through the implementation of a Joint Country Programme.
 
Our vision: Palestinians enjoy equality, self-determination, democracy, as well as access to justice in accordance with IHL and IHRL.
Can you lead and develop a management team and staff who work with a diverse portfolio of activities: active citizenship- just peace- economic empowerment, humanitarian response, capacity building and international advocacy?  Do you have management experience motivating results with a diverse staff? Do you have documented results in fundraising? Do you have experience in strengthening cooperation with partners, donors, faith-based actors and sister agencies?

Areas of responsibility:

  • Overall responsibility for leadership and management of a joint program including 16 staff, fundraising a turnover of 3-5 mio. USD and a program portfolio of 15 partners
  • Nurture partner relationships to achieve agreed outcomes
  • Meet DCA-NCA organizational performance benchmarks and related deadlines.
  • Financial compliance with donor requirements
  • Proactive communication and media work with constituencies in Denmark and Norway
  • Communicate with DCA-NCA headquarters on relevant policies and strategies
  • Liaise with institutions, forums, donors, UN Clusters, constituencies in Denmark/Norway and DCA/NCA resource persons
  • Advocacy campaigns within ACT Alliance
  • Identify new donors and maintain donor relationships
  • Lead, develop and motivate the joint DCA/NCA team to maximum performance with joint identity and culture
  • Risk management including security management

 
We are looking for:

  • 5-7 years leadership & management experience in complex and dynamic environments
  • A good combination of stamina, charisma and constructive critical attitude
  • Knowledge and experience with Israel-Palestinian political, cultural, and economic spheres
  • Experience with a gender equity and rights based approach
  • Understanding of International Humanitarian Law and its application
  • Experience working with faith based organizations and religious actors
  • Strong negotiation skills, diplomatic tact and ability to nurture relations
  • Ability to identify with and practice management values: respectful, participatory, strategic and vision driven, efficient and accountable
  • Master's degree in social science or another related field, work experience within development or humanitarian response
  • Proven experience with project cycle management and implementing donor guidelines
  • Commitment to a long-term development process
  • Ability to lead a diverse team of 16 staff as they work with new methods and terminology
  • Openness for innovation and creativity within the office
  • Good communication skills, fluency in English – oral as well as written. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage. Knowledge of Danish or Norwegian is an advantage
     
  • We offer:
    A three-year contract. August 15, 2017, with two weeks initial introduction at DCA HQ in Copenhagen and a short introduction at NCA HQ in Oslo. Terms are according to Handbook for DCA expatriate personnel, Family postings and salary ranging from DKK 33,000 to 40,000 depending on level of experience on top of that 12,17% pension contribution.
