Job: Euro Health Group is seeking a Sr. Public Health Specialist

 

Sr. Public Health Specialist

• Post-graduate University Degree or equivalent (Masters)  in Public Health, Health Policy, Planning, Management, Health Financing or other related Health field
• At least ten years of increasingly responsible professional experience in developmental work or health sector consultancy with an international focus in a developing and/or transition county including 5 years of work in a developing and/or transition country
• Experience in fragile/post-conflict settings desirable along with Analytical and strategic oversight of international health sector context with knowledge of health sector assistance environment, including but not limited to health systems strengthening and universal health coverage
• Strong skills in monitoring and evaluation including conducting programme/project evaluations preferred
• Experience with different bilateral and multilateral agencies, organizations and donors
• Broad knowledge and practical experience in institutional capacity development, policy and/or strategy development for health, specific technical expertise in different areas under PH
• Experience in developing successful proposals in response to international request for proposals
• Experience in maternal and child health programming, planning and/or evaluation is a plus
• Experience in health financing is a plus
• Experience in social sector health programming is a plus (mental health, social health insurance, education, etc.)
• Fluent in English and good working knowledge of: Russian or French
• Excellent communication skills in a multi-cultural context, solid  writing and computer skills

Strategic Business Development, Networking and Project Acquisition (60%)

• Building strategic alliances/partnerships
• Identification of experts and development of a network of consultants in line with EHG core technical areas
• Lead and collaborate on the preparation of high quality proposals for international donors and technical agencies

• Development of expressions of interest and concept notes
• Quality assurance of products within technical area of expertise

Project Management and technical Backstopping (15%)

• Project management / backstopping of projects when involved as a team member

Consultancy assignments (25%)

• Travel to developing and/or transition countries, including in challenging operating environments,  approximately 25% of working time

Ad hoc

• Assist with developing strategic directions and decision making processes at EHG
• Assist with writing project references and other standard company texts for tenders
• Development of EHG technical concepts, publications and promotional materials

EHG HQ Office Copenhagen (Denmark) or EHG Regional Office in Belgrade (Serbia).
