Stabil vækst i Latinamerika

In many respects Latin America has never had it better as it experiences the longest period of sustained growth in 25 years, said Atul Mehta, Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank on Thursday.

– Unfortunately the benchmarks (overliggerne) globally have been raised. Compared to the other regions of the world, Latin America is not looking nearly as good, Mehta told a Latin America Investment Summit.

Meanwhile, Brazil is the eighth largest economy in the world, the Ministry of Finance said in a study based on the revised figures of Brazils 2000-2005s GDP. Brazils which reached 1,8 trillion US dollar in 2005.

The revision, carried out by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, showed a rise of 10,9 percent from the previous figures, which brings Brazils GDP closer to Frances on the World Bank GDP ranking list.
