Job: ActionAid Denmark (AADK) is looking for Compliance Coordinator for a growing donor portfolio
In the coming years, ActionAid Denmark (AADK) will grow significantly as an organisation. As part of the ActionAid Federation we are consistently working on creating change for vulnerable people in 45 countries, towards a more just and sustainable world. As a part of this vision, we are expanding our donor portfolio and strengthening our work with compliance and documentation.
- Keep up to date with, and understand, relevant donor requirements (e.g. Danida, EC/ECHO, various foundations);
- Monitor AADK’s compliance with relevant donor requirements (e.g. procurement, audit trails) both in terms of internal policies and organisational practices;
- Investigate irregularities and non-compliance issues and highlight or escalate areas of concern.
- Review, and update internal policies, guidelines and procedures and where necessary, draft new ones;
- Develop systems for grants management which are compliant with donor requirements and internal policies;
- Analyze AADK’s Anti-corruption and complaints mechanism and update them to ensure that complaints are duly brought forward and corruption cases come to the attention of AADK.
- Educate staff on relevant donor requirements and on internal policies of AADK and the Federation;
- Collaborate with the rest of the organisation to create a culture of compliance;
- Engage with other NGOs on issues related to administrative donor requirements and compliance;
- Advise and support on project cycle management, guidelines and supportive material in line with donor requirements and a global activist organisation of the 21st Century.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience within compliance management and/or administrative donor requirements;
- Good experience with rolling out administrative guidelines and/or setting up user-friendly systems;
- Experience in training staff members on administrative policies and guidelines;
- A well-organised and structured mindset while operating with a pragmatic and solution-oriented perspective;
- A problem-solver attitude, with the ability to set the scene quickly and ensure thorough completion;
- Completed an advanced education i.e. a Master degree within Political Science or similar field;
- Full proficiency in written and spoke English.

Experience from both development and humanitarian organisations;

Relevant work experience from developing countries a distinct advantage;
- An ability to work independently with various and multiple tasks;
- Appreciation for collaborations based on respect for diversity – also when your co-worker or your partners have a different background or perspective than yourself.
- An 8-year fixed-term appointment with 37 working hours per week, provided that you can document a valid work permit in Denmark;
- An expected number of 10 travel days per year;
