Humanitarian Programme Coordinator

 

ADRA DK’s humanitarian programme portfolio is growing, and we are therefore looking for an experienced humanitarian programme coordinator. S/he will cover as a maternity leave in the beginning and subsequently manage certain parts of the humanitarian programme portfolio. The coordinator will work closely together with the rest of our programme team, which currently consists of seven staff members.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management of part of ADRA Denmark’s current humanitarian country programmes (Syria, Yemen, Sudan and South Sudan)
  • Development of ADRA Denmark’s future humanitarian strategy, intervention areas and programme portfolio
  • Development and quality assurance of new project proposals and reports in cooperation with our partners in the ADRA network to ensure compliance with ECHO and Danida guidelines
  • Providing support to our ADRA partners with regard to ECHO requirements
  • Strengthening some of ADRA Denmark’s strategic intervention areas (protection, WASH, shelter, early recovery, DRR and LRRD
  • Liaison with the ADRA network to strengthen ADRA Denmark’s contributions to international crises
  • Management of our Partnership Agreements with ECHO and Danida respectively

Qualifications:

  • A relevant education, preferably at a higher degree level
  • At least five years’ relevant professional experience in humanitarian programme management
  • Experience from working in ADRA’s humanitarian programme countries is an advantage
  • Specific knowledge on strategic intervention areas such as protection, WASH, shelter, early recovery, DRR, LRRD
  • Knowledge on donor requirements and guidelines (ECHO, Danida)
  • Good writing skills; fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Sphere and the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability (CHS)
  • Resilience, open-mindedness and strong networking skills
  • Strong intercultural and social competences
  • Ability to work independently and solution-oriented while following guidelines
  • Ability to travel extensively and in insecure environments

Employment conditions:

As per the ADRA Denmark terms. The salary level follows the basic government salary scale.

The workplace is Nærum, Denmark. The position will include extensive travel activity, mainly to humanitarian programme countries.
