ADVISOR ON HUMAN RIGHTS AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

 

 

We are looking for a new colleague who can help us expand and consolidate our agenda-setting work on human rights and sustainable development, through strategic partnerships and country projects.

 

As our new advisor, you will be involved in analytical and agenda-setting work, and have responsibility for specific thematic partnerships and emerging country-programmes. 

 

You will be part of the small and dedicated Human Rights and Development department with a busy and ambitious agenda. We value quality in our work, and strive to establish an inspiring and supportive work environment.

 

WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE

The Human Rights and Development department work in the interrelated fields of human rights and sustainable development, and believe that one cannot be realised without the other.

 

We think out of the box and generate innovative tools for integrated approaches to realizing human rights and SDGs. We work with strategic partners, including, UN agencies, national authorities, civil society networks and National Human Rights Institutions, and prioritise peer learning and co-creation of approaches.  We also seek to influence international policies, mechanisms and institutions, including by promoting multi-stakeholder dialogue.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You have a relevant educational background, for example in international relations and development, human rights law or social sciences. You have thorough knowledge and understanding of the linkages between human rights and sustainable development, and at least 5 years of relevant work experience. You are curious and have strong communication skills and can combine practice with analysis and policies. Experience with training and capacity-building is an advantage.

 

You are familiar with project management and know that planning, reporting, and finance administration are important elements of our work.

 

Excellent command of English is a requirement and additional languages (in particular Arabic or Spanish) are an asset.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

The position is full-time based in Copenhagen with significant international travel. Salary is set in accordance with the Danish Ministry of Finance’s agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
