PROGRAMME MANAGER FOR OUR MENA TEAM

 

 

 

The Danish Institute for Human Rights is looking for an engaged and proactive Programme Manager for the MENA programme

The MENA programme is part of the Human Rights Systems Department and works to develop strong national human rights systems in countries in the Middle East and North Africa, focusing on collaboration with partners such as ministries, justice and security actors.

As our MENA programme manager, you will be responsible for delivering programme results within acceptable risk, time budget and quality in the MENA region. Tasks includes team and programme leading, programme development and implementation, financial and budget management, monitoring and reporting. You will report to the director of the Human Rights Systems Department.

As programme manager, you will take part in the coordination of activities within and with other departments at the Institute. You will interact with partners and donors and take part in proactive fundraising for the MENA region.

You will furthermore contribute:

·         To develop and draft programme strategy with the programme team

·         To liaise with external stakeholders

·         To identify new programme opportunities

·         To communicate with press and donors

·         To lead the MENA team

·         To manage current projects in Morocco, Tunisia, and Egypt, and potential future projects in the MENA region

·         To monitor and generate  analysis and data on progress and results

·         To working with partners in the region

·         To communicate on DIHR’s work in MENA in cooperation with the Communications Department.

 

Your qualifications, expertise and experience

·         Academic degree in human rights, international development, law or similar.

·         Experienced team leader

·         Management experience at middle management level,

·         Ability to build partnerships and adapt to different country situations.

·         Insight into state institutions with a human rights mandate i.e. National Human Rights Institutions, ministries, security and justice actors will be preferable.

·         Experience with organisational management, human rights programming and implementation at field level.

·         You know that good project management, administration and reporting are indispensable to achieve our vision.

·         Experience from working in the MENA region.

·         Excellent command of English is a requirement and command of Arabic and French will be a major advantage.

SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

The position is full-time based in Copenhagen with significant international travel. Salary and other conditions are set in accordance with the Danish Ministry of Finance’s agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
