Donor Compliance Advisor – United States Donors

Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Donor Compliance Advisor to increase our capacity to monitor, interpret and deliver on our donor compliance requirements with US Government donors and maintain and increase contractual partnerships with US donor agencies at both local and global levels.

About the job

The US Donor Compliance Advisor (DCA) is a permanent technical advisory function. The US DCA is responsible for keeping track of United States donor regulations and providing capacity building on US donors compliance to field and headquarters staff. The DCA is responsible for monitoring and interpreting the complex regulatory environment of the US donors, and contributing to higher quality and lower risks in grants management through promotion of donor compliance.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Serve as the center of excellence for donor regulations intelligence to ensure DRC keeps abreast with US donors regulatory frameworks.
  • Strengthen capacities for donor compliance by ensuring that all DRC operations have access to relevant support and guidance on compliance for DRC US donors.
  • Strengthen relations with US donors by serving as the point of contact for requests from US donors.
  • Influence donor regulatory frameworks by representing DRC in NGO fora and with US donors.
  • Support coherent external communication and coordinate internal knowledge sharing about US donors.
  • Collect and aggregate lessons learned.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to be a pro-active communicator, who is comfortable working across geographies, and functions. You are effective communicating and working with colleagues both internally and externally, and have a keen eye for detail. You can  communicate complex regulatory issues effectively to busy field staff, while being able to synthesize the most important points for managers. Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • At least 5 years experience with US Donor applications, grant management and reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge of US Donor rules and regulations.
  • Experience with developing training material and conducting trainings.
  • Experience with coordination of multi-stakeholder processes within a global organisation 

Experience from working in a DRC field operation or in another similar organisation is an advantage

  • Higher education to Master Degree level or equivalent
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and writing
  • Desirable

    • French, Spanish, and/or Danish is desirable.

    We offer

    DRC is offering a permanent contract for the selected candidate.

    Salary terms are in accordance with the agreement between DRC and the AC trade union (fagforening) or relevant trade union.

    The successful candidate is requested to start as soon as possible. Duty station is at DRC Headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark.
