Programme Manager for International Rehabilitation

 

 

 

DIGNITY – Danish Institute Against Torture is looking for a Programme Manager with a solid experience in managing development programmes and projects to be a part of our international rehabilitation team.  Would you like to work with international development and humanitarian assistance? Do you have experience with implementing programmes and projects in both development and humanitarian settings?  And are you good at working with people across cultures and contexts? Then you might be the programme manager we are looking for!

 

About DIGNITY – Danish Institute Against Torture

 

DIGNITY is a human rights expert institute which works with rehabilitation, research, international development and advocacy under one roof. We cooperate with local partner organisations in more than 20 countries worldwide to fight torture and help torture victims and their families to a better life.  DIGNITY works in three main areas (prevention of torture, prevention of urban violence and rehabilitation) and is supported by legal, health and communication/fundraising departments. The Programme Manager will be placed in the international team of the Rehabilitation department.

 

 

Area of responsibility

 

As Programme Manager you will be managing a number of the projects in the International Rehabilitation team. The work includes:

  • Leading the development of new projects – with input from the clinical specialists
  • Managing projects through the full project cycle – including the reporting on project results
  • Assessment of our international partners organisational capacity and needs
  • Support partners in their organisational capacity
  • Contributing to monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance of our international rehabilitation projects

 

In the first 6-12 months we expect you to:

  • Lead the development of new project in West Africa including setting up the implementation plan with clear objectives and budget
  • Contribute to mapping potential new partners
  • Identify potential new projects and donors
  • Collaborate with the International Rehabilitation team in implementing the full project portfolio
  • Take part in bridging the national and international rehabilitation work

 

Qualifications

We expect you to have:

  • A relevant education at master level
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a project manager
  • Experience in capacity building of partners
  • Solid track record in project formulation
  • Intercultural skills
  • Good language skills – fluency in English is a requirement and French, Danish or another Scandinavian language is an advantage
  • Solid International Experience from both development and humanitarian settings

  • Easy going and equipped with a good sense of humor

 

Pay and placement

 

The position is remunerated according to labour agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and The Danish Federation of Professional Associations. The successful candidate will be based at DIGNITY’s office in Copenhagen, Denmark.
