        Finance Project Controller

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark

EuroMed Rights (Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network) invites candidates to apply for the position of Finance Project Controller based in its headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Working closely with relevant administrative and project staff on donor reporting – especially in relation to DANIDA Tender format.
  • Preparing and communicating regular projects’ budget updates versus actual spending to relevant administrative and project staff with a service oriented and positive approach
  • Financial monitoring and control with focus on Grants
  • Liaising with budget holders – proactively and upon request
  • Monitoring of Donor Grant requirements and ensure compliance
  • Assisting in month-end and year end closure
  • Participating in developing new procedures and financial porting tools
  • Back-up on other finance tasks

Your qualifications and core competences

  • Finance or accounting degree or similar education or experience.
  • Minimum five years of professional accounting and finance experience in a NGO or NGO-like organisation working with donor-funded programs.
  • Profound knowledge of Grant policies and procedures – especially with DANIDA Tender, but also EU/SIDA/NORWAY MFA.
  • Experience with Danish salary providers (Bluegaarden) and reconciliation to finance accounts
  • Knowledge of Danish financial standards
    • Excellent spoken and written English and Danish.
    • Knowledge of French and/or Arabic will be considered an advantage.
  • Proficiency with financial accounting software, preferably Navision 2013.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Internet).
  • Good communication skills (oral and written), and ability to draft clearly and succinctly.
  • Good analytical skills, organised and with capacity to deal effectively with changing priorities and to keep strict deadlines at the same time.
  • Be self-motivated and, efficient and well organized

Terms and Conditions

Duty station:      Copenhagen, Denmark

Duration:            Permanent with a 3-month trial period

Work:                                               30-37 hours/week by agreement

Holiday:                                           6 weeks per year.

Salary:                    Based on the EuroMed Rights internal salary scale reflecting seniority and Danish standards for NGOs

Start of the

assignment:       1 October, 2017 or as soon as possible
