Senior Finance Officer for international NGO in Copenhagen

 

 

The IRCT is a health-based non-governmental, non-profit umbrella organisation that supports the rehabilitation of torture victims and the prevention of torture worldwide.

Our members comprise more than 150 independent organisations in over 70 countries. Our work is governed by these member organisations. Today, we are the largest membership-based civil society organisation to work in the field of torture rehabilitation and prevention. At the Secretariat in Copenhagen, we are 25 colleagues from Denmark and the rest of the world. The working language is English.

The IRCT is looking for a Senior Finance Officer to take a leading role in the financial management and contribute to the development of the organisation.

Significant for a small team the tasks are very diverse and cover all aspects of financial management, procurement, payroll and IT upgrades. It is important that you enjoy a multifaceted workday that will require responsibility for the below areas:

·         Management and optimization of the financial & auditing processes, internal and external reporting and operation of the IRCT

·         Supervision and coordination of the Finance team (2-3 employees)

·         Continuous supervision of the financial performance of IRCT’s Annual Work Plan and Budget, as well as cash flow

·         Supervision of financial management of EC-funded projects

·         Evaluation of financial risk and custody of IRCT credit

·         Contribution to the upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016

We are looking for a diverse set of experience and skills accumulated over 5+ years:

·         Excellent knowledge of the Danish financial and accounting legislation (ÅRL Class A) is a prerequisite

·         Strong experience in budget development across multiple departments/programs /projects

·         Experience with NGO’s and various donor rules, especially the EC, is an advantage

·         Super user level of Excel and ERP/Finance systems (we use Navision)

·         Fluency in Danish and English, both written and oral
