Menneskerettigheder i Mellemøsten

Join the Danish Institute for Human Rights, The Danish Arab Partnership Programme, Kvinfo and the Danish Foreign Policy Society in a high profile debate on the state of affairs in the Middle East.

With the aim to draw attention and raise general awareness in Denmark about the human rights situation in the Middle East and North Africa, every year the Danish Institute for Human Rights facilitates a major public debate about human rights challenges common to the region and to our partners there.

The debate is aimed at interested citizens, as well as at academia, the press and media, the Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR) present and former staff, and people from the MENA region based in Denmark.

Topic and debate setup: Human rights in conflict

Two teams will debate whether ‘women’s rights and human rights first’ or ‘political stability and economic development’ is the best way forward for the Middle East. Before and after the debate the audience will vote in favour of one of the two propositions.
