You will be part of Save the Children, the worlds’ leading Child Rights-based organization. The Child Rights Governance Global Theme is one of five Global Themes, each responsible for articulating and supporting our Breakthroughs, and providing the strategic direction for thematic work across all contexts. As a member of the small core team working to promote quality and impact of our Child Rights Governance work you will have a challenging job amongst highly skilled and engaged colleagues.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The MEAL, research and KM Advisor is responsible for ensuring that Save the Children makes the best possible use of its capacity to monitor, evaluate and learn from its Child Rights Governance work, as well as share and utilize knowledge about CRG work across the Save the Children movement.

Key tasks in the role will be:

  1. Developing a coherent MEAL, research and KM framework for the Child Rights Governance at Save the Children
  2. Supporting the new Save the Children results framework ambition roll out and country-level uptake alongside other colleagues from different technical areas.
  3. Leadership on development of indicators and quality benchmarks
  4. Support to systematic, strategic generation of evidence of effectiveness of CRG programming, particularly in development of cross-movement approaches:
  5. Leadership of relevant thematic working groups or communities of practice
  6. Supporting research and evaluation on Child Rights Governance
  7. Capacity support to country offices and Save the Children members (including design and delivery of training and workshops)
  8. Capturing our global quality and impact on child rights governance by collating and preparing narrative and visual information for global reports.

 

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

You have a Degree in social research, social science or monitoring and evaluation of social programs and a minimum of 3 years job in international MEAL/research position with a focus on international development, social change, human rights, and governance

Furthermore, the ideal candidate has:

  • Relevant experience in development and/or humanitarian contexts preferred
  • Experience in designing and implementing qualitative and quantitative M&E methods
  • Experience in designing methodologies for trainings, workshops and capacity development and facilitating multi-cultural and multi-lingual learners
  • Background in user-friendly tools and approaches
  • Proficiency with information management systems and statistical software
  • Experience in document design for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work and communicate across cultures, as part of a geographically dispersed team and across organizations and stakeholders

With a natural self-drive, you define goals, deliver the necessary results and take responsibility for planning and prioritizing in transparent coordination with your stakeholders.

Communication is a key strength of yours and you confidently deliver influential advice and convincing briefings to internal and external audiences.

You are a true team player and proactively promote cross-boundary working and dialogue, building trust with and amongst your stakeholders.

CONDITIONS AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS

Employment and salary follow Save the Children Denmark’s present terms and conditions. Employment for 8 months. It is a full time position and travel is required.
