The Opportunity

The purpose of the humanitarian partnership advisor position is to support implementation of Save the Children International’s current work with strengthening the localization of aid agenda as expressed in SC’s Humanitarian Partnership Working Group workplan. Emphasis will be placed on further developing Save the Children’s humanitarian partnership tools and systems and ensuring they are CHS sensitive; rolling out adjusted tools through relevant training platforms; and support a systematized approach to local partners’ humanitarian capacity development.

You will support the implementation of the Humanitarian Partnership Working Group workplan, and the immediate priority to further link humanitarian partnership tools into the Partnership Framework and other systems. You will follow up on remaining activity for the humanitarian partnership tools coming out of a recent workshop, plan and develop training modules, and a rollout plan, in close cooperation with the Humanitarian Capacity Building Group and the Humanitarian Surge Working Group. You will also ensure further development Emergency Preparedness guidelines for partnerships to roll-out, and work with the Head of Partnerships to implement organizational adjustments needed to adhere to Grand Bargain principles and CHS verification outcomes aimed at local partnership operationalization; follow through on Real Time Review findings, Humanitarian Partnership KPI's and the development of a Humanitarian Partnerships recommendation/strategy paper.

The position is based in London as part of SCI’s London head office and terms and conditions according to Save the Children International contracts. Housing is not included.

In order to be successful you will bring:

• Solid field experience in humanitarian responses and proven experience of working with partners in humanitarian settings
• Demonstrable experience with the development and implementation of trainings, preferably utilising a range of methodologies
• A clear understanding of the Grand Bargain, the localization agenda and CHS
• An in-depth understanding of humanitarian response funding mechanisms
• A strong results orientation, with the ability to motivate and hold others to account
• Excellent people, networking and diplomacy skills
• A willingness and ability to travel internationally for up to 20%

The role offers a competitive package in the context of the sector.

Beyond the 6 months, there is the opportunity for the role holder to join SC Denmark as a fully deployable HST (Humanitarian Surge Team), supporting SCI humanitarian operations with focus on partnerships management and capacity development, as well as undertaking programme management and remote management roles at field level.
