Seminar: Saudi-Arabiens og Iran rivalisering – implikationer for den regionale stabilitet

This seminar illuminates different aspects of the competition between Iran and Saudi Arabia including how recent changes within the Saudi regime has affected the Kingdoms foreign policy.

The event will mainly focus on two aspects of the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Iran, namely the geopolitical competition and the ideological or sectarian aspect that fuels the rivalry.

The regional power struggle between Iran and Saudi Arabia has exacerbated regional instability in the Middle East.

The two regional powers are competing on several battlefields across the region.

As both Saudi Arabia and Iran seek to expand their influence through support to allies and proxies, deepening sectarian and political divides.

This event will focus on the cases of Syria and Yemen, but other relevant cases such as the Qatar crisis might also be touched upon.
