NEW YORK, 20. november 2008: The Security Council today authorized a temporary increase of more than 3,000 in the number of blue helmets serving with the United Nations peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to deal with the violence in the country’s east, which has displaced an estimated 250,000 civilians in recent months.
