A UN initial report said Thursday that about 330 million US dollar is needed for Gazas recovery after Israels attack. But the amount could be considerably higher.
The UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) said in a statement that it completed its first assessment of damage and relief needs in the Gaza Strip, and about 330 million dollar are urgently needed for the repair of damaged homes and UNRWA offices in Gaza.
The funds will also be used to provide food for Gazans as well as support for education, health and environment sectors in the enclave, added the UNRWA statement. However, the humanitarian agency noted that once its final assessment of damage is complete, this figure might double or triple.
