Young political leaders from Asia and Europe will meet in Copenhagen on 24-28th October to discuss issues such as global warming and the growing interdependence between the two continents.
The Danish Prime Minister will open the conference (skriver Dansk Ungdoms Fællesråd – DUF – i en pressemelding mandag).
China, India, Spain and Sweden are just a few of more than 30 nationalities that will be present. It is the first time such a meeting of this kind takes place in Europe.
The aim of the conference is to create a dialogue and a better understanding between the future leaders of the two continents. In corporation with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) DUF – The Danish Youth Council, has organized this ambitious event.
The Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen is the head speaker when the conference opens Thursday 25th of October. After his speech the Prime Minister will answer questions from the conference participants. Also a number of ambassadors from the ASEM-countries will be present at the opening session.
During the conference the young political leaders discussions will originate from the theme “The future of ASEM – Youth responses to Global Challenges”, especially with focus on two important issues: Global warming and the growing interdependence between Europe and Asia.
