The Kathmandu Post of Nepal reports that frustrated by the extremely slow pace of “agreed reforms”, the World Bank is considering a cut of about 150 million US dollar (900 mio. DKR) in aid per year to Nepal.
According to a Bank report, the institution is considering demotion of Nepal to “low case”, which means Bank assistance will remain in the range of 0 (nil) to 50 million dollar.
Currently Nepal is rated as “base case” and has been receiving 120 to 200 million dollar a year in assistance from the World Bank.
