Lørdag aften (03.10.09) fejres Danmarks “Skjulte afrikanske stjerner” ved et stort “Best African Achievement Awards show” i Falconersalen på Frederiksberg i København.
Best African Achievement Awards show is not just an ordinary award show like the ones we know. It is more than rewarding people due to their success based on number of CD sales or their level of fame, skriver arrangørerne i en foromtale (se mere om billetkøb m.v. nederst i artklen).
Det hedder videre:
The award show is about acknowledging the sacrifices and hard work that people are doing not only to promote the African culture but also improve other people living standard through business, social activities or charity. Others spread itthrough their music by playing all year round at different events and venues. Some spend most of their time entertaining us whether it is through organizing African concerts or through sports.
In addition to those who have reached a high level of education and hold important positions in many successful companies, we are proud and fortunate to have them as our cultural ambassadors. Indeed, we can be sure that with such soldiers the fight against this negative image of Africa will be won.
Unfortunately not many people know about them, their work, aspirations and the impact they are having. That is the reason why we have created this show.
This award show emphasizes mainly on the positive impact their work have on the local community and Africas image as a whole. It is designed to accentuate those “Hidden Heroes” and praise them for the outstanding work they are doing to change things for the better.
The sheer fact that most of them have succeeded in their respective field of activity, is a clear indication that through integration and hard work anything is possible. They are therefore an inspiration and true role models for all of us to follow. Consequently, the show aims to recognize their effort with an award, which goes together with a special prize from our sponsor for a job well done.
