Godt 30.000 congolesere flygter til Uganda

KAMPALA, 27 November 2008. Over 30.000 refugees including army and police officers from the DR Congo crossed into Uganda on Wednesday through Ishasha border post in Kanungu following renewed heavy fighting between rebels and the government forces.
Over 30 police officers and 40 army men of the Congolese government were among the refugees who also handed over 27 guns to the Kanungu district security.
The Kanungu district police commander Mugisha Nazario said the refugees are still continuing to enter at a rate of over 10 per five minutes as the gun shots are overheard across the border.
