Dialogue meeting on civil society inclusion in Denmark’s engagement towards UN Security Council with MFA

Global Focus is excited to invite civil society and other interested actors to a dialogue meeting on civil society inclusion in Denmark’s engagement towards UN Security Council with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 1st of December at 13.00-15.00.

We have invited Holger K. Nielsen, Special Representative for Denmark to UN Security Council elections, and his colleagues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to join us and give a presentation about their view on the candidacy and inclusion of civil society.

Global Focus will present the Guiding Principles for Civil Society Inclusion in the UNSC process, which is developed on the basis of the learnings and recommendations presented by our Norwegian colleagues about their current seat at the UNSC, at the Global Focus hosted workshop on the 25th of October. We look forward to present the final principles and discuss these with the MFA and civil society during the dialogue meeting.

The tentative program:
– Welcome and short presentation of Globalt Fokus’ role
– Presentation of Guiding Principles for Civil Society Inclusion in the UNSC process
– Presentation by Ulrika Möller, Associate Professor at University of Gothenburg
– Break
– Presentation by Holger K. Nielsen, Special representative for Denmark to UN Security Council elections
– Followed by a dialogue session
– Drinks and networking

Practical information:
– The guidelines for civil society inclusion and the final program will be shared directly with participants
ahead of the dialogue meeting.

– The meeting will be held in English and will take place in Salen at Global Focus’ office on
Rysensteensgade 3, 1564 København V.
