Anders Fogh Rasmussen snart til Indien med stor erhvervsdelegation

Hedebølge i Californien. Verdens klimakrise har enorme sundhedsmæssige konsekvenser. Alligevel samtænkes Danmarks globale klima- og sundhedsindsats i alt for ringe grad, mener tre  debattører.

Statsminister Anders Fogh Rasmussen (V) drager til Indien den 2. til 6. april nøjagtig en måned efter at hans amerikanske forbundsfælle, præsident George Bush, aflagde visit i det frembrusende sydasiatiske vækstlokomotiv, erfarer u-landsnyt.dk.

Fogh Rasmussen ankommer i spidsen for en usædvanlig talstærk erhvervsdelegation på 27 virksomheder, og vil – i modsætning til tidligere besøgende danske statsministre – ikke besigtige danske u-landsprojekter, idet bistanden er under afvikling, og Indien ikke selv længere ønsker at være bistandsmodtager.

Han vil på denne måde bidrage til at markere en ny fase i forholdet mellem de 2 lande, hvor den nye fase er præget af stærkt øget samhandel og stigende investeringer.

Fogh Rasmussen vil udover politiske samtaler med regeringen i New Delhi bl.a. besøge danske virksomheder, der har etableret sig i det store land med over en milliard indbyggere og en købedygtig mellemklasse, der nu tæller 300 millioner.

Programmet omfatter bl.a. et “Indo-Danish Business Forum” i Chennai (Madras) i Tamil Nadu i det sydøstlige Indien (mandag den 3. april), og et lignende forum i New Delhi i nord onsdag den 5. april.

Fogh Rasmussens Indiens besøg rangerer ham ind i rækken af gæstende danske statsministre. For de har næsten alle været forbi verdens største demokrati. Anker Jørgensen (S) kom i november 1980, Poul Schlüter (K) i januar 1987 og Poul Nyrup Rasmussen (S) i september 1995, i øvrigt sammen med Lone Dybkjær.

The event includes a two-day event in each city. Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen will open the event in both Chennai and New Delhi.

As part of the event, you are offered the possibility to participate in sector-specific seminars and individual B2B contact meetings with relevant local Indian counterparts. On the second day of the event, the programme offers individual follow-up, company visits and/or round table meetings.
