Save the Date: Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th of May, 2013.
Venue: Eigtveds Pakhus, Asiatisk Plads, Christianshavn, Copenhagen.
The world is faced with fundamental challenges and new opportunities. Democratic transitions are happening in some places whereas in others, democracies and human rights are being challenged.
Many low and middle-income countries are experiencing high growth rates but this growth is not distributed equally and vulnerable groups are excluded from decision making. At the same time global pressure on key natural resources and climate change are disproportionately affecting poor people.
The new strategy for Danish development cooperation “The Right to a Better Life” stresses that combatting poverty and promoting human rights are equal priorities and interdependent.
Human rights and inclusive sustainable economic growth can be the foundation for stable, democratic societies promoting a more equal access to and sustainable management of resources.
The Danida Development Days 2013 will explore the diversity of experience and views of implementing a human rights-based approach and promoting a transition towards greener growth pathways.
We invite you to join the debate and present your thoughts and experience during the different sessions.
A more detailed programme will be posted on the Danida website in mid-April together with further information on registration etc.
