The terrorist attack of 9/11 brought religion to the fore of public attention. Following this event, politicians and scholars had to deal with the phenomenon of religious terrorism. Ten years later, religion is still a fiercely debated issue and promises to remain at the top of the international security agenda for years to come. But what did we learn about religion? And do we have adequate policies and concepts to deal with violence, conflicts and terrorism with religious dimensions?
This international conference gathers leading experts on terrorism and religion. The aim is to facilitate a dialogue between practitioners and scholars and to provide a platform to discuss policy suggestions and initiatives to deal with religious violence today.
