The revolutions in the Middle East and North Africa have had a profound impact on the reality and everyday lives of women in the Middle East and North Africa. However, strengthening gender equality in the region remains a great challenge.

The aim of the conference is to take stock of the situation, look into the future and discuss challenges and opportunities for women in the region.

Activists, politicians, journalists and scholars from the MENA and Denmark will participate in the conference, which will be opened by the Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Villy Søvndal.

A panel of academics and parliamentarians from the Middle East and North Africa will as well participate in the debate.

The conference on April 16th is followed by a two-day internal partner meeting for KVINFO’s more than 70 partners in the MENA region and Denmark.

Participation in the conference is free, but it is necessary to register.

Please register online here no later than April 10th:
