Day one of the workshop focuses on ‘what’ to monitor: developing gender-aware and rights-sensitive indicators. Day two explores ‘how’ to collect and use data, taking into account gender relations, the rights addressed by the intervention and the practicalities of programme/project management. The agenda will include time to apply new knowledge and skills to own work – participants are asked to bring a programme /project plan for which they need to develop indicators and a monitoring plan.

Participants should have a basic understanding of gender analysis and some familiarity with results-based planning.

Workshop objective:
– To increase awareness of what a ‘gender and rights’ approach to development means for what and how agencies monitor programmes, projects and partners
– To strengthen skills for planning and implementing monitoring that is gender-aware and effective in tracking progress on gender equality and rights.

Trainers are Chris Hunter, senior advisor on social development and gender equity from the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) in the Netherlands and Olga Ege Coordinator at Gendernet.

Registration: The fee for the course is 400 DKK per participant. Deadline for registration is November 14. Participant will be notified and receive information on payment details and final program by e-mail. Register to Gendernet here.
