(Den danske cementkoncern) FLSmidth has landed a contract worth about 43 million euro (319 million DKR) from Egyptian-based Sinai Cement Company to supply machines for a new 4.200 tonnes per day cement production line, skriver FLS i en meddelelse til fondsbørsen torsdag.
FLSmidth will supply all machines and auxiliary equipment (hjælpeudstyr), including an ATOX raw mill with a MAAG gear, a complete ILC three-support kiln (ovn) with preheater and SF Cross-Bar cooler, as well as a UMS cement mill, electrostatic precipitators (udskilning/bundfældelse) and automation equipment.
The contract also includes installation and technical assistance, in addition to two complete packing lines from Ventomatic.
The new production line, an expansion of an existing cement plant built by FLSmidth on the Sinai Peninsula between 1998 and 2001, is scheduled to go on stream already in May 2008.
FLSmidth will use the experience gained so far with the principles of Lean project management: The project start-up phase has already been shortened and the project processing phase is also likely to benefit from these principles.
– We are now testing the experience gained with Lean through our systematic optimisation work the past six months. In the longer term, the Lean principles are expected to shorten the turnaround time of cement projects to the benefit of both customers and ourselves, says Group CEO Jørgen Huno Rasmussen.
