THE Police and born-again pastors are some of the categories of people that are involved in child trafficking, a survey report by ANPPCAN Uganda Chapter, a local non-government organisation has said, according to Ugandan paper, Sunday Vision, Saturday.

The report also cited lawyers, restaurant and bar owners, food vendors, second-hand clothes dealers, housewives and housegirls as other people involved in child trafficking.

Reading out the report to the public at Hotel Equatoria, Dr. Nakanyike Musisi, director of Makerere University’s Institute of Social Research, said boys are trafficked at a much younger age than the girls.

– The files about child neglect and abuse are no longer important files at the Police. Even our Airport Police do not mind about people ferrying children. It is because of corruption, Nakanyike said.
