Sudan and Chad have agreed to end their hostilities and to begin direct talks towards peace within their troubled border areas. This is reported by AfricaNews on thursday.

Sudan’s president Omar al-Bashir and his counterpart Idriss Deby also decided joint development projects to rebuild their war-affected areas in the border between the two nations.

Al-Bashir who was speaking after meeting with president Deby has said a visit from the latter had “put an end to all the problems” between the two countries.
