Zambia launches 6th country program action plan

LUSAKA, 23 March: The Zambian government with the support of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) Thursday launched the 6th country program action plan worth over 15,3 million US dollars for a period of four years (2007-2010).

The program will be implemented in North-Western and Luapula provinces covering reproductive health, population and development and gender component.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance James Mulungushi said the program aims to improve quality of life of the Zambian people through social economic development.

Mulungushi urged the two provinces to double their efforts in implementing the programs in order to attain the millennium development goals (MDGs) and the fifth national development plan (2006-2010) of the country.
