Ny fung. direktør for NIAS

Hedebølge i Californien. Verdens klimakrise har enorme sundhedsmæssige konsekvenser. Alligevel samtænkes Danmarks globale klima- og sundhedsindsats i alt for ringe grad, mener tre  debattører.

Senior Researcher Geir Helgesen has been appointed acting director of NIAS (Nordic Institute of Asian Studies) in Copenhagen from February 1 to September 1st, 2009, while the institute waits for a new director to be appointed after Mr. Jørgen Delman.

Should a new director be appointed during this term the interim period will be shortened accordingly (overgangen skyldes, at et jobopslag i december 08 om en ny direktør øjensynlig ikke resulterede i en egnet kandidat, red.)

Geir Helgesen:

– My colleagues and I will continue our work as in the past, while also dealing with challenges and preparing for future projects and programs. We will remain an active Asian studies environment in the Nordic region, prioritizing collaborative work with Nordic colleagues, and maintaining global institutional and personal networks and collaboration.

– We will work hard to secure necessary funding for our research, our library services and our publication program. Meanwhile, we all look forward to welcoming our new director.
