The DR Congo (former Zaire) is going to be compensated for the role that its forests are playing in the fight against global warming, a senior World Bank official has said.

– We have established a fund to be known as the “carbon forest”, of which the main aim is to compensate this country for conserving and preserving its forests which are making a great contribution to the fight against climatic change, Laurent Debroux, who is a senior WB project officer, told the Top Congo radio on Wednesday.
