The World Bank will provide a 135 million US dollar (730 mio. DKR) credit in soft terms to Bolivia for the Andean countrys rural development, infrastructure and social projects.
The credit was announced Wednesday by World Bank Vice President for Latin America Pamela Cox after meeting with Bolivian President Evo Morales at the Quemado presidential palace.
– We already have a program of 300 million dollar and another 135 million will be provided in 2011 for the development of social areas, health and infrastructure in Bolivia, Cox said.
World Bank Country Manager for Bolivia Oscar Avalle said that access to the addition funds is conditional on the completion of the projects.
– The funding is not yet approved but we are going to prepare some projects for the resources, Cox confirmed.
