The Executive Boards of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group have decided that the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors, along with related meetings and events, will take place in Washington, D.C. on October 2-3, 2004.
The Boards of Governors Meetings were originally set to take place on October 4-5, 2004, with the associated ancillary meetings taking place during the preceding days.
Discussions with the U.S. authorities – who host the meetings in Washington – began earlier this year regarding the schedule. The schedule is being consolidated to these dates to enable the IMF and World Bank Group to conduct their meetings so that they take into account the needs of the institutions and the District of Columbia.
All the normal business of the meetings – the Joint Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors, the International Monetary and Financial Committee and the Development Committee – will take place.
