Russia may fully write off the debts of the least developed countries, including African ones.
– If this step is taken, a total of 750 million US dollar (4,65 milliarder DKR) will be written off within the framework of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund’s initiative on reducing debts of the least developed countries, Director of the Russian Foreign Ministrys African Department Alexander Makarenko said.
– As of now Russia has written off or has pledged write-offs to African countries equal to 11,3 billion dollar, including 2,2 billion dollar within the framework of the initiative, the diplomat said.
