En international festival for poesi, hip hop og urban kultur – Shoko! – finder i disse dage sted i Harara, Zimbabwe. Festivalen varer fra 21. – 25. september og præsenterer både internationale og lokale kunstnere.
Shoko vil være en hyldest til poesi, hip hop og urban kultur, der sigter med positiv social forandring: music with a message. Festivalen vil være et levende laboratorium med koncerter, workshops, debatter, sociale medier mm.
Headline acts include Akala (UK), Tumi and the Volume (SA), Hired Gun (USA) as well as Drea (Botswana), DJ Bionic (SA), Florian Gaag (Germany), Nomadic wax (USA) alongside trailblazing Zimbabwean acts such as Outspoken & the Essence, Synik, the Monkey Nuts, Comrade Fatso & Chabvondoka and many more to be announced soon. Hosted by Zimbabwe’s leading spoken word and hip hop organization, Magamba, the event happens at various locations across Harare including Book Café, Zimbojam and Mannenberg aswell as Alliance Francaise as the main festival hub.
