Seminar: Modern Conflicts, Accountability and the ILC (København)

Are you interested in international law? At this seminar two leading members of the International Law Commission (ILC) will provide updates on current issues before the Commission to stimulate a discussion on what these days can be considered the progressive development of international law.

The seminar will pay special attention to how the ILC in its ongoing work addresses some of the complex challenges modern warfare poses to international law – both in regards to the protection of the environment during armed conflict, in regard to the peremptory norms of international law (jus cogens) and in regard to accountability for crimes against humanity.

The seminar will be jointly co-hosted by the Centre for War Studies at the University of Southern Denmark and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
