Kommercialiseret uddannelse – en farlig tendens

What happens to education when school companies, operating with the same business model as Starbucks, open schools in the worlds’ poorest countries? From the Philippines to Uganda – commercial schools with a cost-saving standardized approach to education are mushrooming, but what is the impact on children?

The UN 2030 agenda aims to give all children and youth access to quality education. To achieve this, we need solutions that include, rather than exclude. This is why Oxfam IBIS wants to have an open discussion on the risks and dangers of commercializing education, and invites you to a discussion on this question with experts from around the world.

You will:

Learn about the risks of commercial education, and get to know specific examples from country level

Meet people who work with education, and who are passionate about SDG4 and universal access to quality education

Discuss Denmark’s role in financing education globally
