Online seminar: What China’s influence in Africa means for the global economy

The discussion about China’s role in Africa has been followed closely by Quartz Africa since it started five years ago with the aid of a range of scholars, government officials, researchers and think tanks.

The relationship between the world’s second largest economy and nearly all 54 countries has centered around infrastructure on the continent and geopolitical influence on the global stage.

Now, in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been a lot of concern about how African economies will cope in general, but specifically in terms of the debt many have amassed with the Chinese.

Quartz Africa has gathered leading thinkers on China-Africa relations to bring our members and readers up to date on the key issues on one of the most fascinating and important areas of our new global economy.
