Webinar: The role and space for civil society and local communities in humanitarian coordination and accountability mechanisms

What is at stake when existing coordination mechanisms are not designed in a way that reflect the reality of local voices?

Women, youth and marginalized groups that are often disproportionately affected need to be at the center of coordination, decision making and local leadership. This ensures that the responses are designed and implemented in a way that respond to the lived experiences and needs of ALL people affected – and that no one is left behind.

The webinar will explore what some of the real barriers are for meaningful engagement and involvement by local voices – including women, youth and other in current humanitarian coordination structures. How do current humanitarian coordination mechanisms accommodate for better inclusion of local actors?

Join us online for reflection and sharing of experiences with representatives from civil society in Palestine, South Sudan and Lebanon as well as the International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA).
