Join us on the 13th October at 1.00-3.00 PM when Danish Initiative for Ethical Trade invites to a webinar on how to act responsibly in fragile states and conflict areas, in accordance with the international standards for responsible business conduct (UNGP’s and OECD guidance).
Over the last decade, the number of civil wars has almost tripled, peaking in 2016 with 53 countries experiencing conflict. The UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights has highlighted the challenges faced by companies in conflict-affected contexts. and the need for enhanced human rights due diligence in conflict environments. Meanwhile, responsible business offering livelihoods and economic can also contribute to peace and development.

Gladys Nairuba, Programme Officer – Active Citizenship at DanChurchAid, presenting aspects of meaningful stakeholder dialogue in conflict or fragile contexts. How are the right stakeholders and their representatives identified, and how is a meaningful dialogue conducted?
Christian Friis Bach, founder of warfair, a Danish company trading with local farmers and companies in conflict-affected countries. Christian Friis Bach will present warfairs Complaints Mechanism.
