Summary
The book is the first comprehensive analysis of militarisation’s permeation and consolidation within Uganda’s economy and society. It details the loss of livelihoods, weakened civilian institutions, human rights violations, and widened patrimonial networks among other outcomes of deploying Uganda’s military to the country’s key development sectors such as fisheries, agriculture, land, and mineral resources.
The book is the product of a 4 years research collaboration between the Human Rights and Peace Centre (HURIPEC) at Makerere University and CRIC at the University of Copenhagen funded by DANIDA.
The book is published by The African Studies Bookstore (www. africanbook.shop). It can be ordered at the book launch.
We look forward to sharing this special moment with you and hope you can join us for an afternoon of reflection and inspiration on crucial questions.
