Så er der en ny publikation fra Nordisk Institut for Asienstudier i København, der går i dybden med Asien:

In Focus: Thailand: The terrorists that outsmarted the Government

In the most southern provinces of Thailand, Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat, a violent conflict between Muslim insurgents and the Thai government has been going on for decades.

The conflict has escalated after 2004 and the Thai government has responded to the terror acts by the insurgents by installing massive military troops.

Anya Palm, freelance journalist based in Thailand, reports on the conflict in this week’s In Focus blog.

In the “In Focus” section of the AsiaPortal we address an up-to-date topic and ask a Nordic expert in this area to write a short opinion in an attached blog.

We warmly wel-come researchers, students, experts and others interested in the topic to give their comments in the blog.

We would also like to form a network of people who would be interested in participating with opinions in future In Focus themes. Anyone interested can contact us on [email protected]
