Learning Event: Gender Equality and Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights in humanitarian settings
We know that women and girls play a critical role in crisis response making humanitarian action more relevant, inclusive and equitable.
Then why is it that internationally funded crisis response time after time fails to be gender-responsive and transformative? The gendered impact from a crisis is reaching new alarming heights and we risk leaving women and girls even further behind. What can Danish civil society organisations and the Danish government do to change this negative trend? Tech and digital solutions can place women’s leadership, access to SRHR and social empowerment at the heart of a crisis recovery strategy while improving women’s health and protection. Is it enough – and what needs to be done?
Join us as we discuss the learning from a two-year capacity strengthening project between Maternity Foundation, Sex & Samfund and DanChurchAid on gender equality and SRHR in humanitarian crisis.
