Online-seminar: How the grassroots NGOs implement the SDGs in Uganda?
What role can the grassroots NGOs play in implementing the SDGs in Uganda?
The SDGs, in Reality, is a project in Uganda coordinated by Crossing Borders. It is a mentoring youth leaders project that aims to domesticate and contextualize the SDGs in Uganda. Through the project, we wanted to guide local youth leaders to view the world from a sustainability lens. The premise of this project was that ongoing processes related to localizing the SDGs in Uganda such as the development of the recently launched national road map for implementation of SDGs and sector development plans are not just complex but hardly involve youth beyond consultation or bring about youth-led action on the ground.
At this online event, we will be discussing the results of the project and how successful it has been. We will also be discussing how and in what ways grass-roots NGOs can implement the SDGs through youth leadership using projects like “The SDG’S in reality.”
We will be doing this through a panel discussion with Andrew Julius Bende, Wakib Bunnya, Jesper Alstrøm and Garba Diallo.
We will explore how we can be a part of implementing the SDG’S in the Danish context and also what we can do from Denmark to help in other countries.
