Seminar: India – democracy and its discontents (København)

The Citizen Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) have brought masses of people to the street in major Indian cities.

Why?

Besides proving necessary context, we will trace the logics behind these two laws back into history. Which kind of political events and outbursts have preceded what we see happening now?

Besides offering a series of short presentations addressing different angles of the protests, we open up the space for discussion and comments from the audience.
