Tunisia on Stand-By: Democratic Revival or Coup d’État?

Join us on October 27th, for an evening of Tunisian music, food and talks concerning the current situation and political turmoil in Tunisia.

Tunisia was the frontrunner during the Arab Spring with the introduction of both democracy and basic rights. But a few months ago, we suddenly witnessed the president ousted the prime minister and suspended parliament, and the whole world held its breath: Is Tunisia heading for a new dictatorship or will president Saied really implement the social and political reforms that the people are demanding?

Nasim, Oxfam-IBIS, Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke, Kvinderådet and DUF -Dansk Ungdoms Fællesråd invite you to an exciting event where we will learn more about the situation in Tunisia. We have invited young experts directly from Tunisia, who together with an expert panel in Copenhagen will discuss the current situation. What has led to such great political tensions? What do the protesters and the strong civil society say?

Along the way we will offer drinks and delicious Tunisian food.

We also have the great pleasure of being joined by DJ, percussionist and producer Nuri. Nuri is from Tunis but currently based in Copenhagen and performed at Roskilde Festival in 2019.

Entrance: free
