Webinar: The EU and the fight against tax havens
Big companies and the super-rich use tax havens to avoid paying their fair share of taxes. This practice deprives countries of vital tax money to fund essential public services like building hospitals, fixing roads or investing in education. Today, these resources are even more needed to help recover from the economic and social impact of the pandemic.
To tackle this practice, the EU created a list of tax havens in 2017. Recently, the EU recognised that the listing process needs to be updated and is currently working on a reform.
In this webinar, we will ask:
How widespread is the problem of tax havens and how does it impact countries across the globe?
Is the current EU listing process fit for purpose and what does the EU need to improve?
What is the role of the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Member States in this reform?
Join the discussion with EU decision-makers, stakeholders and experts from across Europe and the world.
