Ny rapport om Latinamerikas sociale tilstand

SANTIAGO, 2 December 2008: The UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), will present a summary of the report Social Panorama of Latin America 2008 this comming Tuesday.

It is the 16th edition of the report, which provides an assessment of social trends in the region with regard to poverty, income distribution, employment, the demographic bonus and youth violence.

This year’s report consists of four chapters:
The dynamics of poverty, unequal income distribution and social exclusion.

Changes in employment and wages, their impact on poverty and the monitoring the new Millennium Goal target on full and productive employment and decent work for all.

Opportunities opened by the demographic bonus to advance in coverage and achievements in secondary education.

Social agenda. Youth and family violence in Latin America: perspectives from an inclusion focus.
